In the dark recess of the mind, there is hope
Sadness shall pass like the morning’s sun
Here clumps of rose petals will fall
Sweet smells for all those still whispering
To dance again and sadly sway alone.
Grief, inconsolable heart, pain-stricken
Listen, the curve of your ear, soft and mellow
Shaped like a crux, yearning for resolve
Love springs forth, a path to a new tomorrow
Build a shrine and plow the shire
In the wake of their passing, eyes blur
With flames lit anew, all might see
Their spirit, will and freedom give birth
To the tree that sprouts forth life.
It is with great sorrow that I write this poem. Someone I love has experienced a tragic loss and my heart grieves for them. So I write, in hopes that words shine a light to heal and ease pain.
“The wound is the place where the Light enters you.”
